Cancellation of the temporay approval of the Nanosilva anti-microbial pesticide containing nano silver as an active ingredient by the EPA
Court Of Appeals (Ninth circuit) of San Francisco, United States

May 30, 2017
Positive
The Court of Appeal cancelled the US Environmental Agency's (EPA's) temporary authorization for the nanosilva-based antimicrobial pesticide.

The associations contest the EPA's provisional approval for the use of the nanosilva. They ask for its cancellation, in the absence of analyzes of its effects on human beings, wildlife and the environment. The Court of Appeal considered that the EPA had not demonstrated that the use of this product was in the general interest.
